  • Home and workplace of Grzegorz Rosinski, 1941-, Polish comic book artist, in Mollens, near Sierre, Switzerland. Rosinski was born in Stalowa Wola, Poland, and is the author and designer of many Polish comic book series. He created Thorgal with Belgian writer Jean Van Hamme. The series was first published in Tintin in 1977 and has been published by Le Lombard since 1980. The stories cover Norse mythology, Atlantean fantasy, science fiction, horror and adventure genres.   • Nabatean home carved into the rock at the Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan's largest nature reserve, South Central Jordan. Although the people of the Ata'ta tribe are the current native inhabitants of the Reserve, it was previously home to Palaeolithic, Egyptian, Nabataean, and Roman settlers. The reserve was established in 1989 along the face of the Great Rift Valley. It contains high plateaus, desert plains, mountains and wadis, is home to 800 plant species and many animals. It is the only reserve in Jordan that includes the four different bio-geographical zones of the country; Mediterranean, Irano-Turanian, Saharo Arabian and Sudanian penetration. Section of Julian arriving home, 1215-25, from the Life of St Julian the Hospitaller window in the chapel of St Julian in the ambulatory of Chartres Cathedral, Eure-et-Loir, France. Chartres cathedral was built 1194-1250 and is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Most of its windows date from 1205-40 although a few earlier 12th century examples are also intact.   • Amphitheatre, or Parlaggio, built 1931-52 and used for concerts, seating 1500, aerial view, at the home of Gabriele D'Annunzio, 1863-1938, Italian writer, soldier and fascist, at Vittoriale degli italiani, or The Shrine of Italian Victories, his estate and museums at Gardone Riviera, Lake Garda, Brescia, Lombardy, Italy. Blue Horse, by Mimmo Paladino, was installed here in 2010. The house or La Prioria, on the right, was originally the Villa Cargnacco, which was rebuilt by Gian Carlo Maroni from 1922 and developed until 1955. The estate consists of the Prioria, where d'Annunzio lived 1922-38, an amphitheatre, the protected cruiser Puglia, the MAS vessel used by D'Annunzio in 1918 and a mausoleum.   • Carved wooden lintel on the reconstruction of the Maison du Jouir or House of Pleasure, home to French artist Paul Gauguin, 1848-1903, from 1901 to his death, now part of the Paul Gauguin Cultural Center, a museum which opened in 2003, in Atuona, on the island of Hiva Oa, in the Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia.
