  • Yellow ceramic roof tiles with stars, on the Administration Pavilion, built 1905-10, at the Hospital de Sant Pau, or Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, built 1902-30, designed by Catalan Modernist architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner, 1850-1923, in El Guinardo, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The original medieval hospital of 1401 was replaced with this complex in the 20th century thanks to capital provided in the will of Pau Gil. The hospital consists of 27 pavilions surrounded by gardens and linked by tunnels, using the Modernist Art Nouveau style with great attention to detail. On the death of the architect, his son Pere Domenech i Roura took over the project. The complex was listed in 1997 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen

It was made in 1983, measures 3 x 11.5m and is signed and dated on the lower left side: Miro/CASTALDO/83. Joan Miro lived and worked in Majorca from 1956 until his death in 1983.   • Virgin and child ceramic piece on the altar inside the mirrored interior of the Chapel of the Temperance, at La Temperance, card no. 14, in Il Giardino dei Tarocchi, a sculpture garden by Niki de Saint Phalle, 1930-2002, based on the esoteric tarot, at Pescia Fiorentina, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. The chapel is topped with a figure of an angel symbolising the right way forward. Niki de Saint Phalle begun the project in 1979 and it opened in 1998, holding 22 monumental sculptures of the Greater Mysteries of the tarot. A carved stone noble staircase decorated with floral design leads up to the first floor. The house was commissioned by Manuel Quadras i Feliu of the Quadras textile family.
