Dali bought the castle in 1969 for his wife Gala, and restored and renovated it. Gala was buried in the crypt in 1982 and Dali lived and worked here 1982-84.   • The Vienna bedroom on the first floor of the square keep, 12th - 13th century, in the Chateau de Chateauneuf, or Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, a 12th and 15th century castle, Cote d'Or, Burgundy, France. The terracotta floor tiles date to the 15th century, and the wooden panelled and painted alcove with wardrobe and washroom were installed by Charles I in the late 17th century.   • Master bedroom of the Commanding Officer's quarters, on Officers' Row, at Fort Davis National Historic Site, a US army fort established 1854, in a canyon in the Davis Mountains in West Texas, USA. The house was begun in 1867 under Lieutenant Colonel Wesley Meritt, but has been refurbished to the time of Colonel Benjamin Grierson, commander of the black Tenth US Cavalry, and his family, who lived here 1882-85. The fort was built to protect emigrants, mail coaches, and freight wagons on the trails through the State from Comanche and Apache Indians. After the Civil War, several African-American regiments were stationed here. By the 1880s, the fort consisted of one 100 buildings, housing over 400 soldiers. The apartment consists of 4 rooms used as the country seat of the King and his wife, the Countess of Mirafiori, Rosa Vercellana, known as the Bella Rosina. The villa was begun 1480-95 and completed 1513-20 under Giovanni de Medici by Andrea di Cosimo Feltrini and Franciabigio.
