  • Spanish Synagogue of Venice, or Scola Ponentina o Spagnola, founded 1555, Campo delle Scole, in the Jewish ghetto area of Venice, Italy. The synagogue was founded by Jews expelled from Spain in the 1490s who reached Venice in the 1550s. The 4-storey yellow building was designed by Baldassare Longhena and restored in 1635. The city of Venice is an archipelago of 117 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges, in the Venetian Lagoon. The historical centre of Venice is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.   • The Spanish Synagogue or Spanelska synagoga, a Moorish Revival synagogue built in 1868 to the design of Vojtech Ignatz Ullmann, in the Jewish quarter or Josefov, Prague, Czech Republic. The tripartite facade has a tall central section flanked by lower wings on each side and is topped by a pair of domed turrets. The building is owned by the Jewish Museum of Prague, and is used as a museum and concert hall. The historic centre of Prague was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.   • The Landmark 1588 (Spanish Armada), detail of painting, 1979, by John Miller, 1931-2002, of the beacon atop the castle of St Michael's Mount during the 1588 Spanish Armada, in the castle on St Michael's Mount, a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall, England, the site of a 12th century Benedictine monastery and 14th century castle. The lighting of this beacon when the Spanish ships were seen approaching triggered a line beacons on all the hills of the South coast, warning London of their approach.   • The Camp de Rivesaltes or Camp Joffre, a military camp and detention centre built in 1938 in Rivesaltes near Perpignan, Pyrenees-Orientales, France. The camp was originally used to house Spanish refugees fleeing the Spanish Civil War, but during the Vichy regime was used for Jews and gypsies, some of whom were transferred to Auschwitz.   • List of the Sephardic Jewish names, who the Spanish government announced in 2014 could apply for Spanish nationality, from the collection of the Crespo Lopez family exhibited in the 16th century Palacio de los Olvidados or Palace of the Forgotten, in El Albayzin, the medieval Moorish old town of Granada, Andalusia, Southern Spain. The Palace is one of the few remaining old aristocratic houses in good condition, thought to belong to a Jew and now housing artefacts of Jewish culture and history.
