The entrance to Jerusalem at the top, showing Jesus, holding a palm branch, riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, over clothes and palm leaves on the ground, welcomed by the people. His disciples follow behind carrying his book, and on the right, the people of Jerusalem cheer and welcome him. Chartres cathedral was built 1194-1250 and is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Most of its windows date from 1205-40 although a few earlier 12th century examples are also intact.
