Marie de Medici, queen of France, with her children, fresco, by Baldassare Franceschini, called Il Volterrano, 1611-89, commissioned by Lorenzo de Medici, from the Fasti Medicei, or Glories of the Medici family, series, in the internal courtyard at the Villa La Petraia, a 14th century Villa Medicea at Castello, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The children are Louis XIII, Don Gastone, the princess Nicola, Enrichetta Maria queen of England and Maria Cristina Duchess of Savoy, with her dog.
