Vlychada Cave in Diros, known as Diros Cave, on the Mani Peninsula, Peloponnese, Greece. The limestone caves feature nearly 15km of routes, with stalactites and stalagmites, which can be explored by boat and on foot. Palaeolithic and Neolithic artefacts have been uncovered in the 3 Diros Caves. The peninsula is home to the Maniots, descendants of the Spartans. It sits between the Laconian Gulf and the Messenian Gulf and houses the Taygetos mountains. Picture by Manuel Cohen
