Tara brooch, 8th century, found at Bettystown, County Meath, in the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology, a branch of the National Museum Of Ireland, opened 1890, on Kildare St in Dublin, Ireland. The brooch is made of cast and gilt silver and is decorated with gold filigree panels depicting animal and abstract motifs, with studs of glass, enamel and amber.
