La Vague, or The Wave, oil painting on board, c. 1900, by Rene Seyssaud, 1867-1952, from the Musee Granet collection, in the Musee Ziem, founded 1908, in Martigues, on the Cote Bleue, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The museum is named after the Barbizon School painter Felix Ziem, who lived in Martigues from 1860, and is housed since 1982 in a former customs barracks. Picture by Manuel Cohen
