Krak des Chevaliers, Qala'at al-Husn, originally built 1031 for amir of Aleppo, occupied by Crusader Tancred of Galilee in 1110, and given in 1144 to Knights Hospitaller, who rebuilt it as the largest Crusader castle in the Levant.
