Bottom row l-r; the annunciation (archangel Gabriel tells Mary she will have a baby), the visitation (Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth who will give birth to John the Baptist), the nativity, from the Incarnation and childhood of Christ stained glass window, 12th century, on the Western facade of the nave of Chartres Cathedral, Eure-et-Loir, France. Chartres cathedral was built 1194-1250 and is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Most of its windows date from 1205-40 although a few earlier 12th century examples are also intact.
