View of the Chateau Royal de Blois before the restoration programme undertaken 1844-70 by Felix Duban, watercolour painting, in the Chateau Royal de Blois, built 13th - 17th century in Blois in the Loire Valley, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France. In the centre is the Louis XII wing, built 1498-1500 in Gothic style with some Renaissance elements, and on the left, the monumental spiral staircase of the 16th century Italian Renaissance Francois I wing, seen from the courtyard of the chateau.
