Monument marking the room where Hernan Cortes was born in 1485, and right, the Monument to Hernan Cortes, designed by Eduardo Barron and inaugurated in 1890, in Medellin, Extremadura, Spain. Cortes is depicted wearing armour, trampling on Mexican idols and raising the banner of the Cross.
