Greek orthodox church of the Dormition of the Virgin, built 1952 in the Solvay coron, a district of workers' houses built 1896-1902 by the Belgian Solvay company, in Salin-de-Giraud, Bouches-du-Rhone, France. Pechiney and Solvay needed workers for their salt extraction businesses and housed them in purpose-built workers' villages, with hierarchical accommodation and amenity buildings. Many of the workers came from Greece and Armenia. The church is now owned by the Greek-Orthodox Metropolis of France. Picture by Manuel Cohen
