King's Bedchamber, Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, Maincy, Seine-et-Marne, France

King's Bedchamber, in the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, designed by Louis Le Vau, 1612-70, and built 1658-61 for marquis Nicolas Fouquet, in Maincy, Seine-et-Marne, France. Charles Le Brun painted the ceiling, Truth Supported by Time, representing Fouquet's allegiance to the King, with gold plasterwork surrounding the panels. The portrait of Louis XIV is by Rene-Antoine Houasse, 1645-1710. The chateau is built in Baroque style, with decoration by Charles Le Brun, 1619-90, and grounds designed by landscape architect Andre le Notre, 1613-1700.
