Scaffolding inside Hagia Sophia, erected to aid restoration of the dome, Istanbul, Turkey. Hagia Sophia, The Church of the Holy Wisdom, has been a Byzantine church, an Ottoman mosque and is now a museum. The current building, the third on the site, was commissioned by Emperor Justinian I and is a very fine example of Byzantine architecture.
