Virgin and Child, tondo painting, 1505-10, by Adriaen Isenbrant, 1490-1551, painted for Bishop Jorge de Almeida and his Paso Episcopal de Coimbra, now the Museu Nacional de Machado de Castro, Coimbra, Portugal. The museum was opened in 1913 and renovated 2004-2012. The city of Coimbra dates back to Roman times and was the capital of Portugal from 1131 to 1255.
