Model of a homo sapiens woman modelled on the bones of the Cavillon lady, buried 24,000 years ago in Grimaldi, Italy, with fur cape and hairstyle resembling that of the Grimaldi Venus sculptures, holding soapstone, the rock used to carve these figures, in the Galerie de la Mediterranee, in Cosquer Mediterranee, a visitor centre opened June 2022, designed by Stefano Boeri, housing a partial replica of the Grotte Cosquer or Cosquer Cave and its cave paintings, at the Villa Mediterranee, Marseilles, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The cave itself is inaccessible with its entrance below sea level in the Calanque de la Triperie, near Cape Morgiou. It was used 27-16,000 BC and is decorated with over 200 wall paintings. It was discovered in 1985 by Henri Cosquer and is listed as a historic monument. Picture by Manuel Cohen
