Early Villanovan tombs, 9th century BC, and behind, access buildings for the Etruscan tombs, at the Monterozzi Etruscan necropolis near Tarquinia, Vitero, Lazio, Italy. The necropolis was founded in the 7th century BC and contains around 6000 graves, many of which are covered in frescos. Monterozzi is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
