Bakery, Forteresse de Salses, Salses-le Chateau, Occitanie, France

Bakery in the Forteresse de Salses, a catalan fortress built 1497-1504 and designed by Francisco Ramiro Lopez and restored by Vauban from 1691, Salses-le Chateau, Pyrenees-Orientales, Catalogne du Nord, France. The bakery contains several ovens and is situated on the west side of the redoubt, built around a central courtyard. The castle was built under Ferdinand II of Aragon to protect the border between the Principality of Catalonia and France. It is part-buried and has 7 levels with 10m thick walls.
