City Walls, Avila, Spain

City Walls, 11th-14th century, Avila, Spain. Avila has superbly preserved walls built as fortifications against the Moors, an ancient cathedral, Romanesque churches, and is a pilgrimage destination due to its association with Carmelite nun St Teresa (1515-82), canonized 1622.
