Mausoleum of the Samanids, 9th-10th century, Bukhara, Uzbekistan, pictured on July 11, 2010 reflected in a pool by the late afternoon light. Built of kiln-dried bricks by Ismail Samani for his father Nasr I, who died in 892, the harmony of its geometrical form has earned it a place on the register of World Heritage.
