Painting, Fondation Planque, Musee Granet, Aix-en-Provence, France

Composition (essai de reliure pour la Prose du Transsiberien), binding test for the Prose of the Trans-Siberian Railway, oil painting on leather, c. 1911, by Sonia Delaunay, 1885-1979, in the collection of the Fondation Jean et Suzanne Planque, exhibited in the Chapelle des Penitents Blancs, built 17th century, an annex of the Musee Granet, in Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Jean Planque, 1910-98, was a Swiss art collector and the works, donated in 2011, include Impressionist, Post Impressionist and important early 20th century paintings, drawings and sculptures.
