Frescoes, 1000-50 by Constantinople artists, on the east wall and domes of the Karanlik Church or Dark Church, a rock-cut cross-in-square column church, 11th century, Byzantine, in Goreme Open Air Museum, Nevsehir province, Cappadocia, Central Anatolia, Turkey. In the centre are the Church Fathers with Deesis above in the central apse, and to either side under the arches are the prophets Habakkuk and Jeremiah.
