Portrait of a young woman from Arles, painting, c. 1842, by Alexandre Hesse, 1806-79, wearing wrapped shawl with tassels, lace cuffs and hair tied in ribbon, in the room with exhibits on Arlesian costume in the 18th century, in the Museon Arlaten - Musee de Provence, in Arles, Provence, France. The museum, founded 1896 by Frederic Mistral, is housed in the Laval-Castellane mansion built 1505-15 and houses ethnological collections from the Arles region.
