Indecent fountain, representing the fountain of life, with man representing sulphur drinking water from lion representing strength, woman representing mercury having stolen the man's strength, and the whole image symbolising the process of creating the philosopher's stone, from the painted coffered ceiling in the Salle des Gardes, or Guard Room, in the Chateau du Plessis-Bourre, built 1468-73 in Renaissance style for Jean Bourre, Ecuille, Maine-et-Loire, Pays de la Loire, France.
