Centre Georges Pompidou, or Pompidou Centre, is an arts complex in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris. It was designed in high tech style by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, the British architect couple Richard Rogers and Su Rogers, Gianfranco Franchini, the British structural engineer Edmund Happold and Irish structural engineer Peter Rice, to whom the project was awarded in 1971 after a design competition.
