Homo erectus model, Musee de Tautavel, Occitanie, France

Homo erectus hunting wolves with a spear, model in the Musee de Tautavel - Centre Europeen de Prehistoire, Tautavel, Pyrenees-Orientales, Catalogne du Nord, France. The museum houses the Centre Europeen de Recherches Prehistoriques (CERP), who work on the excavations at the Caune de l'Arago or La grotte de Tautavel, or Arago Cave, in a limestone cliff in the Gorges du Gouleyrous in the Corbieres Massif, which contains the remains of the Tautavel Man, a subspecies of Homo Erectus, 450,000 years old, along with further evidence of stone age activity.
