The oval Grand Salon with its dome can be seen in the centre of the facade, fronted with a 2 storey portico. Steps and terraces lead down to the central path of the formal gardens. The chateau is built in Baroque style, with decoration by Charles Le Brun, 1619-90, and grounds designed by landscape architect Andre le Notre, 1613-1700.
