Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan's largest nature reserve, South Central Jordan. The reserve was established in 1989 along the face of the Great Rift Valley. It contains high plateaus, desert plains, mountains and wadis, is home to 800 plant species and many animals. It is the only reserve in Jordan that includes the four different bio-geographical zones of the country; Mediterranean, Irano-Turanian, Saharo Arabian and Sudanian penetration.
