Senat, carved inscription on the pediment of the North facade of the Palais du Luxembourg, 1615 - 1631, by Salomon de Brosse, commissionned by Maria di Medici (Marie de Medicis), Paris, France. The palace became the seat of the French Directory during the French Revolution and in 1799, the home of the "Senat conservateur".
