Father Kiriakos, priest, in front of the apse and 16th century iconostasis of the Panagia Asinou Church, or Panagia Forviotissa, a Byzantine church, originally the church of Forvion monastery, built from 1005, founded 1099, dedicated to the Virgin of Forvia, near Nikitari, in the Troodos mountains, Cyprus. The eastern apse or altar apse contains 12th century frescoes including the Virgin with archangels Michael and Gabriel in the half dome. In front are the Annunciation, St Anne, St Joachim, Virgin and Christ Eleimon. The church is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
