Les Ports de Marseille, oil painting on canvas, 1900, by Alphonse Moutte, 1840-1913, in the Palais de la Bourse, or Stock Exchange Palace, built 1852-60 by Pascal Coste in Second Empire style, on the Canebiere in Marseilles, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The painting depicts the Vieux Port or Old Port, the main harbour and marina, with the Tour du Fanal, a lighthouse built 17th century, and the Fort Saint-Jean, built in 1600 by Louis XIV, at the harbour entrance. The building houses the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie Marseille-Provence and the Musee de la Marine et de l'Economie de Marseille. Picture by Manuel Cohen
