Donna Leon (New Jersey, United States, 1942), American author of a series of crime novels set in Venice, Italy, such as the international best-selling Commissario Guido Brunetti series, winner of the CWA Macallan Silver Dagger for Fiction. Leon was a lecturer in English literature for the University of Maryland University College - Europe (UMUC-Europe) in Italy and then worked as a professor at the American military base of Vicenza, Italy (1981-1999).
