Rhone delta beside La Digue a la Mer, a 2.5m high dyke between the Rhone delta and the Mediterranean Sea, built 19th century, at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur, France. The dyke separates the sea water from the land, enabling arable farming in this area of the Camargue. A 20km path runs along the top of the dyke, for walking and cycling, leading to the Phare de la Gacholle, a solar-powered lighthouse built 1882. Picture by Manuel Cohen
